The Corsican Cape form the northern extremity of the Corsica, advancing itself in the Ligurienne sea in the direction of Genes . His width is about 10 to 14 Km and his length 37Km Situated to the north of the Corsican Cape ,the commune of Ersa extends itself on about 20,5km2.It was known formerly under the name of " ARSIA" then of "ERZA" before to be ERSA;his name comes from the Latin word "ardre" from the the past participle is "arsà" and indicates very exactly that the region is dry. One reaches ERSA by the East since Bastia or by the West since Saint-Florent by the regional road D80.

At last this is a not very watered area, the rainfall surpassing only rarely 600 mm per year. |
